Leather Bowls
The natural coloured bowl is 10cm high and 20cm wide and is made with red bridle leather and vegetable tanned leather cord. The white bowl is 17cm high and is made with white vegetable tanned leather with straw grain print. Both use a one piece pattern with a pairing weave and an overlapping crown. They are for sale at Bill Amgerg's shop for £295.
These pieces are very small and detailed in contrast to the rest of Clare's work. They are part of a collection of leather vessels Clare made in collaboration with leather designer, Bill Amberg, in 2003. Using his leather off cuts there are thirty unique pieces made with three kinds of weaving techniques and many kinds of leather, see other 'leather vessels'. The pieces are both functional containers and intriguing art objects. |
