The black basket is 30cm high and made with black water buffalo leather. Using prepared leather strips, it is plaited with a reversed folded down top.

The lighter coloured basket is 40cm high and combines black with natural water buffalo leather. It uses a stake and strand weave with laced crown over a copper rod. Both baskets are for sale at Bill Amberg's shop for £550 each.

These pieces contast Clare's other organic shaped work by using flat surfaces, corners and formal weaving. They are part of a collection of leather vessels Clare made in collaboration with leather designer, Bill Amberg, in 2003. Using his leather off-cuts there are thirty unique pieces made with three kinds of weaving techniques and many kinds of leather.
