Arbour, living willow
- Living Willow
- Arbour
- Southern & SE
This arbour is shown in winter, front and back, and in summer in the Nature Reserve at Wakehurst Place in Sussex. It is 2 metres high with an oak seat carved by Alun Heslop. The willow rods are planted through holes drilled round the back of the seat. The rods will gradually fill the holes as they grow fatter.
The double arbour is photographed eight years after planting in a private garden in Wiltshire. Facing two opposite ways, it is 2.5 metres high. |
