These lanterns are made with paper and glue stretched over a willow frame. They are about 80 cm across. The red ones were suspended down the centre of a marquee and spot-lit for a party. The white ones were hung on individual poles with a candle in a jar suspended inside. Up to fifteen were held at night by the audience to light up an outdoor theatre performance in the Edinburgh Botanical Gardens.
