The tree nest and tree tunnel, shown here, are part of a commission to make play structures for children. The work was designed collaboratively with John Malkovich for his private garden in Provence and made with the help of carpenter Henry Russell.

Made with willow, hazel, mulberry, pine and rope, the tree houses are set in a walnut tree and two hazel bushes. The tree nest is 3 metres from top to bottom and is 3 metres off the ground.

A ladder leads up to the tree tunnel which is linked to the tree nest by a hanging bridge. From the bottom of the ladder a living willow tunnel and two raised earth walkways (shown here) snake across the garden to the tree tower.
